OUTDOOR FIREARM RANGES (Rifle and Pistol) - Hours 9am to Sunset.

  • ALL bullets must directly impact at one of the target berms. 
  • Eye and ear protection are required at all times.
  • All firearms must be fully unloaded /action opened and placed in the provided rack before ANYONE advances forward of the firing line. Firearms shall remain racked/untouched until all shooters have returned to behind the firing line. If you enter the range before the members are behind the firing line, please leave your firearm in its case or put it in a rack until all shooters have returned to the firing line.
  • Pistols should be in a holster or unloaded in a case when going down range.
  • Going down range,: Verbally notify all shooters, receive a verbal acknowledgement. Firearms unloaded, actions open and racked, Turn on the down range alarm (flashing red light)  The member who turned on the alarm should be the one that turns it off after verifying all that went downrange are back.
  • Use only the walkway to advance forward to change or retrieve targets.
  • Only paper targets (or Club provided steel targets) are to be used. They must be placed on the provided backstop. NO OTHER ITEMS may be used as targets such as clay ‘skeet –type’ targets, tin cans, containers or bottles.
  • Shotgun SHOT Patterning is allowed on the rifle range. Only use the club provided frames. NO SLUGS or RIFLES can be used at this close-in position because a low shot could ricochet over the berm.
  • Do not cross shoot. Example-do not fire at a 100 yard. target/berm from a bench aligned with another target berm (25, 50, etc) 
  • When 3 or more members are shooting, they must appoint a “Range Officer” whose direction is to be obeyed.
  • Benches are marked for distance- please shoot only at the distance marked for your bench.
