INDOOR PISTOL RANGE RULES

Safety Requirements

• Eye and ear protection are required at all times
• Indoor range allows pistol calibers with velocity below 1300 FPS
• .22LR rifles permitted
• NO MAGNUM LOADS

Targets

• Only paper targets are to be used
• Hang targets on the backstop between the vertical line markings for your lane
• All bullets must directly impact the backstop for the designated lane
• Do not cross shoot (do not fire at lane 4 while stationed at lane 1)

Firearm Handling

• Pistols should be in a holster or unloaded with empty chamber indicator (ECI) placed in the chamber
• When going downrange, firearms must be placed on the bench or in a case
• Firearms shall remain untouched until all shooters have returned to behind the firing line
• .22LR rifles must be fully unloaded with action opened and placed in the provided rack before ANYONE advances forward of the firing line
• If you enter the range before members are behind the firing line, leave your firearm in its case or in a rack until all shooters have returned to the firing line

Going Downrange Procedure

• Verbally notify all shooters and receive verbal acknowledgement
• Ensure firearms are unloaded, actions open, ECI in place and/or racked
• The person calling the line safe shall visually verify the line is safe
• That person then verbally announces that the line is safe and you may go downrange
• The member who announced the line is safe should verify all members have returned and announce when firearms may be handled and firing may commence

Range Operation

• All shooters must shoot from the same line of fire
• Mobile benches can be moved to your desired distance
• No closer than the designated yellow 21-foot mark
• When 3 or more members are shooting, a "Range Safety Officer" must be appointed—their direction is to be obeyed
